not from the info I heard, the reason he wore gloves is that he refused to
remove his wedding ring during filming... and since all rings would have
been confiscated as a POW, it was a dilemma for the director... so, to fix
it, they just had him wear gloves all the time... in the season one
episode
31, "the flame grows higher" you see him without his gloves for a bit, and
he's wearing a wedding ring.... however, the rash you saw may have been a
reaction allright... an allergy to the material of the gloves!
