This episode is remarkably free of gaffs. One thing that needs pointing
out which is seen in many episodes including this one is the
positioning of Barracks 2. HH live for the most part in Barracks 2,
(decribed as Barracks 4 in a few episodes). This barracks faces the
open Appel yard across from Klink's office. Most of the interior
barracks shots, however, appear to have been filmed in another barracks
behind Barracks 2. This is evident in many instances when Schultz opens
and walks out the door and there is another barracks directly in front
of the door, no more than ten feet away, usually identifyed with a sign
as Barracks 3. I at first thought there might be a back door to
Barracks 2, but episodes which show the heroes going around the back of
Barracks 2 indicate there are only windows back there, (like the
episode where Le Beau is driving the RC mini tank).
Other gaffs in this episode:
- Klink burning Schultz's pass with an American Zippo lighter, whose
owner****p would have been frowned upon by Klink's superiors.- The Nazi
party flag both outside and inside the bank is backwards, (swastika
facing the wrong way).
"D-Day at Stalag 13" Aired Sept 13, 1967
Newkirk and Safe, Carter Test Tube beginning
New model Klink's office with no side window
Carter weaqring an SS Colonel's Uniform while being addressed as Major,
(this clearly looks like Hochstetters uniform being borrowed by L.
Hovis. Since they got the rank wrong from the beginning wardrobe simply
when with what it said on the tag?)
Schultz has Iron Cross, second class ribbon but this is never reflected
in the second buttonhole on his uniform, as was the custom.
"Knights in ****ning Armor" Aired October 28, 1967
Trivia: We learn that Le Beau's squadron was the 14th. Escadrille
Gaffs:
- "Bullet Proof Vests" are really US Airforce Flak Jackets
- Hogan wears a modern black Nylon Jacket in commando guise
- The C-47 that drops the Flak Jackets is painted in pre-WW2 color
scheme
- Klink using tube toothpaste. Almost non existent back then. They had
tooth Powder
- Carter wearing a post war Spanish helmet at roadblock. Similar to
German, but has fastener spot welded on the front. Carter is carrying
Schultz's Krag rifle!
- Car stopped at road block has right hand British steering wheel!
- Lt. Maurice Dubois, (Felice Orlandi) plans to escape back to Vichi
France! (Vichi disappeared
as a political entity back in 1942, after the North Africa invasion!)
That is all
