Don't bet on it. Many are, but a lot of the new 2.4GHz and 5.8Ghz
ones actually transmit one side of the conversation in the clear in
the 800Mhz band. If you are in the market for a cordless phone, be
sure it says "digital encryption" and "digital spread spectrum" before
you buy.
