General Burkhalter does not drive a Mercedes, but rather a 3-axle
Maybach Zeppelin (with a fake Mercedes hood ornament); the small
trucks that appeared in the show, usually as German transports or
ambulances, are all American models; and while Klink's staff car was
the right nationality (a Mercedes 540 SS), that particular model was
at least ten years old by the time the show was supposed to have taken
place (the 540 SS dates from the early '30s).
Interestingly enough, Hitler had a 540 SSK.
