I've been re-watching her and she just seems lost; a well-meaning but
shallow beauty queen reciting "smart" lines like a parrot.
In olden times female characters Howie and Megan were smart and
charismatic but fighting the voicelessness held over them by the men.
Similarly the name of the female producer, Debbie Sergeant, would
alternate between the opening credits and an obscure listing somewhere
in the closing credits, apparently as a semi-private joke about the
feminist perspectives that saturate the early episodes.
There's no dynamic like this in final season.
