Well, it did occur to me -- back to Homicide -- that Kellerman is Loki
the red-haired fire god of Norse mythology. In the course of his
appearances he comes to be regarded suspiciously because he's only half
"god," coming from another department with all this suspicion of past
behavior attached to him. As Loki foretells the fall of the gods,
Kellerman almost brings down the department.
