Quite true. Veering back to HLOTs, I do believe there were some
people that tried to argue that there were "signs" that Crosetti was
suicidal. They're weren't, since the decision to off Crosetti wasn't
planned into the show. It was foisted onto the producers, and they
chose to get rid of his character in that way.
As far as the Potterverse goes, I think you could make a much easier
and better argument for Gilderoy Lockhart being gay - or perhaps Prof.
Quirrell - than you can Dumbledore. However, none of the "evidence"
I've seen presented from the books is convincing me that anyone's gay.

True, but he's just so darned good at it that makes it enjoyable.
Case in point - even though Alan Rickman is much too old to play
Snape, he's perfectly cast. You enjoy watching him being surly. I
think he'd make a fantastic Scrooge, and much better than Patrick
Stewart.

Peter O'Toole would have been great too. Gambon is doing a fine job
as Dumbledore. Speaking of Patrick Stewart (who has said he really
wants to be in an HP movie) maybe he should be in Film 7 as either
Grindlewald or Doge (two of Dumbledore's alleged love interests).
