Simpsons: Where's Springfield? (Re: Dumbledore is gay?!)

Let's go a little off-topic and look for clues to where Springfield is
on the Simpsons. Same thing really.

Now Springfield's been every part of US, as in recent feature film, but
in early episodes of the series Lisa said "...listen to the clues." It's
probably Ohio, although of course it's an absurdly fictional Ohio.
Someone says "south of the border" and Homer says "Kentucky?" Marge says
"Springfield -- oh hi, Maude!" But as I said it's a runnng gag that the
geography changes to fit whatever the writers need Springfield to be.
