In case anyone hasn't seen the 1/28 Wire yet, I'm asking about the plot
below
..
..
..
..
OK, I know I need to pay closer attention, but some things flew by me
about
the biggest plot twist of yesterday's show.
When Marlo went to the Greek and Spiro, I didn't get at all that he was
letting them know that he was planning on challenging Prop Joe for the
entire supply.
I picked up on the Greek's comment about insurance -- suggesting he
wanted
to have a relationship with Marlo in case Prop Joe and the coop had
another
breakdown protecting the shipments. But did the Greek think Marlo was
going to kill Prop Joe? Would it be in the Greek's interest to let things
go so far and trade a steady business partner for a mostly raw barely
known
guy? Or would this move be a surprise to the Greek?
I assume Marlo's strategy is to control the shipment from the Greek, and
combine that with his enforcers to seize control of the coop. Is there
any
likelihood that he could do this without a huge bloody war with the
establishment in the East? I'd always gotten the sense that Marlo had a
very strong organization but was still only one guy out of a dozen or so
at
the table.
Is there any natural heir to Prop Joe? I assume that Cheese and Slim
Charles are two who would fight for his organization, but are there any
others? I can't remember.
I'd assume the natural trend from this point is that the murder rate takes
off as the turf battle takes off, leading Daniels to reinstitute the
special ops group to try to bring down Marlo. But I still don't see where
the newspaper and the homeless serial killer threads lead.
