It's funny--I don't remember much about that one! There's a good reason
for it, though: I don't LIKE, and rarely ever watch, the "country"
episodes. However...
I just pulled "The I Love Lucy Book" off my shelf to look it up, since
you piqued my interest. According to it, the episode was "Ragtime Band"
and it aired on 03/18/57. (I was wrong about it involving other club
members in the band.) Lucy had promised that Ricky would perform at a
benefit for the West****t Historical Society...but, alas!, Ricky refuses.
So she realizes she has ANOTHER Ricky Ricardo--Junior, that is. She
forms a band with her (on sax), Little Ricky (drums), Fred (fiddle), and
Ethel (piano). In this episode Lucy claims to know only one song--and
it's not "Glow Worm" as in an earlier episode. This time it's "Sweet
Sue." Ethel claims to know only one song, "She'll Be Comin' Round the
Mountain"--which totally contradicts her piano prowess shown in earlier
episodes. Ricky, yet again, comes to the rescue by agreeing to be in
the performance and by supplying some of his musicians.
