My grandfather, who has since passed away, told me that he was
fortunate enough to see I Love Lucy being filmed live on a few
occasions. He mentioned, however, that each time he saw the show
being filmed it had to be stopped several times to allow the actors to
take a break and deposit a BM (bowel movement) into one of the many
toilets at Desilu Studios. It happened so many times during one
filming that Lucy actually apologized to the audience. She said that
the actors would usually eat a large Mexican meal before the show and,
as a result, have to expel at least one (and usually more than one) BM
(bowel movement) soon after eating. According to my grandfather, Desi
had the most trouble controlling his bowels. Apparently, he ate like
a pig and the beans and hot salsa would do a number on his Cuban
stomach. One funny episode that my grandfather relayed to was that
during one filming Desi was playing his bongo drums when he suddenly
stopped, lowered his trousers, squatted down and actually pushed out a
long, thick, and fluffy BM (bowel movement) right on the stage! The
filming was stopped while janitors were summoned to clean up Desi=92s
steaming BM (bowel movement). That must=92ve been riotous.
