Indeed. I believe it was in Bart Andrews' book where it's mentioned Bill 
worked out a provision in his contract where he got time off to see the 
World Series, provided the Yankees were in it. Of course, that was a given

through the '50s.

I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure he was a minority owner of the
PCL's 
Hollywood Stars. A number of people around show biz in the 50s were.
