Morimoto Philadelphia Restaurant

by "Louis Cohen" <louiscohen2006@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 29, 2006 at 05:34 PM

I had dinner at Morimoto in Phildelphia last night. We had the clam
miso, nice - normal miso but with some clams instead of tofu) and the
$70 chef's choice su****/sa****mi platter (plenty for two people).

The su**** was fine, but not greatly different than what I get at Su****
Man on Bush St. in San Francisco; just more expensive.

Other plates going by looked like fa****onably small pieces of fish
piled on top of something pretty. Our waitress had so much attitude,
she could work in San Francisco.

The venue, however, seems calculated to make you feel drunk before
you've had a sip - the ceiling undulates, the walls have a wavy motif,
the booths change color, each table is lit by a glowing *** toy
(that's what it looks like). and the restroom stall doors are so
neatly panelled you can't tell where one door stops and the next
begins.

Also, the restroom hand driers are built into the walls - you stick
your hands into niches at the bottom of which are the river rocks that
Morimoto sometimes cooks with.
