I thought this was quite an entertaining ICA battle. I admit to being
biased in favor of Morimoto, but the outcome of this match honestly
didn't seem right to me. Donna did better than he did in his first ICA
battle (which doesn't say a lot), but he still seemed a lot less
focussed and imaginative in his dishes than the Iron Chef. Morimoto, I
thought, delivered one of his best-looking set of dishes yet on ICA.
Was Morimoto jeopardized -- a la Sakai in his infamous Battle Trout on
ICA -- by his creation of a seafood dessert?
Alton Brown commented at one point during the battle that the chefs'
demeanors were different than they were in their first battle, with
Donna relaxed during this rematch and Morimoto very intense. Actually,
this was not true; their demeanors were very much as they were in the
first battle, where Donna seemed remarkably easygoing and humorous
despite his disastrous performance.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on the match?
