Flatley was the CO of the Great Lakes Base back in the early 80's.  Then 
RADM Flatley told us about the excercise.  He commented that the take-offs

were a lot less scarey than the landing.  The Adniral was really a pretty 
nice guy, well liked by the blue****rts.
