As Joan acknowledges when she's talking to Lady Custodian God, the
assignments are never about just one simple straightforward ripple. In
many cases, she doesn't see the biggest ripple, even after the fact
(starting with the pilot, with the arrest of the serial killer). This
time, I thinks she saw pretty much all the ripples playing out, especially
the obvious big one, Will gaining his religion (in the metaphorical, not
literal, sense).
Friedman, always fun.
At the end of the scene in the hallway, and when Grace gave Glynis the
completed equations, I was reminded of a scene from Buffy the Vampire
Slayer. Willow, who had always been enemies with Cordy, was even moreso
after catching her and Xander kissing. In a later episode, Willow
mentions that she's helping Cordy with her homework. "Wow, those two gals
are hanging out a lot together. This would be a good time to panic."
Besides, Grace and Glynis bonding means more Mageina Tovah, and I'm all
for that.
Next week we get the first iteration of Elizabeth and the Drama Club (and
Joan's first singing on the show), then in two weeks we get the guest star
we've all been looking forward to, Juliette Goglia. Oh yeah, one of the
Duff sisters is in it too.
