No. You don't need faith. Not unless you have some personal stake in the 
outcome.

You wake up in the morning. You point your nose in some direction. You 
take a step forward. With any luck at all you will do no harm that day. 
Maybe you will have a chance to do a kindness to someone without 
expecting something in return. Maybe you will decide to go out of your 
way to do something to help someone that needs help. Maybe you just 
facing a wall waiting for enlightenment. Maybe you just listen to 
someone - really listen without judging. Then you come home at night. 
Turn out the lights and get ready to do the whole thing again tomorrow. 
It doesn't matter if someone benefited from what you did. Plant seeds. 
Maybe water them. Walk away. Whether the seed grows or not isn't your 
concern unless you believe that the seed owes you something. But faith 
has nothing to do with it.
