After sleeping on it, I got today's lesson slightly wrong.
Do the right thing. It's not important whether you are 'rewarded' or
'punished', as long as what you did was the right thing.
Joan, Luke, and Helen all did the right thing, for varying values of 'the
right thing', and all three perceived themselves to be unjustly punished
for it. The important thing, for them, should be what they do, not what
others do to them.
