Probably referring to the 'learned a lesson from it'. Joan doesn't
necessarily learn lessons from her God assignments. In fact, in the
latest new episode, Joan didn't know any of the (several) good outcomes
from her God assignment, just God's assurance that there were good
outcomes, and God's reinforcement that she wouldn't necessarily always
see the outcomes.

God's assignments occasionally do involve a lesson for Joan, but rarely
only that, and frequently no Joan-lesson at all, just 'positive ripples'
affecting other people. In fact, the more there are of the 'positive
ripples' and the less the 'Joan lessons', the more viewers seem to like
it. When you boil it down, I really think the heart of a lot of the
complaints about the 2nd season trace down to 'too much Joan lessons, not
enough positive ripples'.
