She has a good resume, which is why I'm always interested in watching
her shows. Judging Amy, Chicago Hope, Northern Exposure, but I find all
of these shows sometimes has a certain pattern when they run into a bad
spot. Undeveloped subplots, subplots that are introduced and then
dropped when it runs into a corner and/or the writers get bored with
it, etc.
So far, the season has had two subplots pewter out. There was of course
the Annie Potts subplot, which ended rather abruptly and a little too
neatly (hey, can't do anything with the subplot? Just send her off
abruptly), the lawsuit concerning Joan's brother Kevin, which kind of
ran into another dead end and pewtered out, etc. I did question the
Judith inclusion, but I saw what they were trying to do after they
killed her off, so at least there was a reason for it.
Somehow, I just got the feeling that some of the subplots were dropped
because the crew chickened out or felt it was going to go into an
unpopular direction.
