I think the show is great for teens to watch and identify with...my
daughter
won't miss an epi...kids like seeing others muddle through problems
similar
to their own and see how they handle them. The acting is awesome, Joan's a
natural and makes me feel her pain...man, I was crying with her last
night...I teach school and hear so many stories of kids' lives that you
may
not even believe if you heard them...they need someone to identify with.
I've come home emotionally drained many days from listening to them chat
about their lives, the friends or relatives they've lost because of
shootings, family abuse and the list goes on and on...it's as if the kids
are in a war but can't do anything about it. If Joan's God helps them, I
say
great...I can offer them advice, words of wisdom from the ones we read in
class every morning but that's about it...I have a calendar authored by my
sister that sits on my filing cabinet with positive messages based on
scripture, which the students have seen and every day they ask to read the
"Word" for the day. It's like they are thirsting for answers and want
something positive in response...

Peace,
giuditta
