I think they laid enough of a foundation for Adam's ***ual
frustration in the previous ep where they were out
overnight, I think at a music concert, and slept
(innocently) together. If you recall, Adam made a move
towards Joan and she, though somewhat willing, stopped
him--though she asked if it was all right with him and he
said yes, the expression on his face and his behavior showed
he was extremely frustrated, enough to want to look
elsewhere for ***. And all teenage boys are indeed *****,
though some more and some less. Adam never lacked libido, he
was just a very private, low-key personality and kept things
inside himself. So, all of the later events that happened
seemed to make perfect sense to me.             ...tonyC
