Also, with the recent death of the Pope, it was hard not to be reminded 
of JPII forgiving the man who attempted to assasinate him.

I wonder if the episode might have been written differently if it had 
been filmed after his death.  Maybe not, since they've had enough time 
to refilm those scenes if they wanted to.
