From memory of my mother's knitting, you don't knit something like that in
one swell foop, you knit squares, lots and lots of squares, then knit the
squares together.  Throughout the ep, we saw Joan knitting different
colored squares, then at the end she gives Adam a Tom Baker Dr. Who scarf
of all those different colored squares knitted together.

Also from remembering my mother knitting, it's amazing how fast you can
knit those squares, if you are competent and stick to it.

I don't think they're going to be a 'couple' in the immediate future.

Somebody needs to talk to somebody.  An underlying sub-theme in about half
the episodes (and the main theme in a few) is that people need to talk to
each other, need to communicate, which is a little odd when Joan doesn't
talk to anyone about the biggest thing in her life (I was kind of hoping
that she would give in and explain to Grace this ep).  I do think they are
starting to show that Joan not talking about it to anyone (except God)
isn't necessarily a good thing.
