The thing that bugged me about Helen's story is that she seemed to be
missing
the whole point of forgiveness. First, when she and the priest got to the
hospice, and he asked her if she really wanted to do this, she said that
she
wanted to, that "forgiveness is an im****tant part of faith". It seems to
me that
she's missing the point that she shouldn't be doing it because she thinks
she's
supposed to, but because she *wants* to. Otherwise, she's being
disingenuous.

Secondly, she seems to be missing the point that her forgiving him is
supposed
to be for *her* benefit as much as his.
