So, Ryan Hunter is the devil, or the devil's desiple, but he's filling the
role adequately.
It's a dream, so dream rules apply, but Goth Kid God hasn't previously met
Helen (Cute Guy God introduced himself last season finale.
It's an old tradition that even when one sets out to deliberately defy
God, God will make it work for him. Defacing the Catholic church
strengthened Lilly's faith, and burning down the synagogue strengthened
Grace's relationship with her father.
Damouth can say whatever he wants about Luke talking science jibberesh,
and, well, he's right (clue, we do know what's at the high end of the
electromagnetic spectrum, and it ain't time travel and ghosts).
The metaphors were thick and heavy tonight. Not just the wind whenever
Ryan showed up, but the metaphor of Custodian God picking up the loose
papers on the school lawn followed by loose paper blowing all over the
place after Ryan talks to Joan.
Ryan: "After you die, that's it. There's nothing."
Joan: "You're wrong."
(Since she had been talking to Judith Montgomery and Rocky Tardio earlier,
that's not exactly an act of faith)
Ryan is Joan's mission, I call firsts (since I speculated that a couple of
days ago).
And based on the setup shot and God's comment, Friedman and Glynis are
official members of Joan's army.
Next up on JoA, ... I guess we have to wait for the upfronts to see if
there's anything.

(after God showed her just a little of his omnipresent brain)
