They avoided the pitfall of having Ryan be the devil or work for the
devil. 
Having him a regular person who chooses to make bad choices is more 
interesting.

They have also kept the threat low key (CGI wind effect except).  The
fight 
between Joan and Ryan isn't for the fate of the world.  It may just be for

Ryan or at most keeping the bad ripples to a minimum in Arcadia.

The vandalism of the church and the burning of the synagogue were powerful

scenes.

Helen's dreams didn't do anything for me.  I hope they leave her dreams 
largely out of next season (if there is one).

Lilly and Kevin were good.

Grace was very good.

Luke's science talk about the electromagnetic spectrum was crap.

I hope there is a season three.
