The previews for Joan and the last images of Ryan on the next-to-last
episode of the season suggested this. But the season finale did not give
this vibe at all. Instead, it made it clear that Ryan is just
bitter, resentful and arrogant enough to think that he is smarter than
JoA's
god, and better off without JoA's god.
Which IMHO is the better way to play it. If he were the devil or taking
orders from the devil, I would probably give up completely on JoA as a
lost
cause. But I am now intrigued by what they'll do with Ryan.
