I did not dislike the cop plots.  What bothered some people was the
legal suit that went on so long.  I really did like the show, myself.
Except at the last, when Joan's mother went to see the rapist, I felt
she made a sin by what she said to him.  She could have demanded that
he turn himself in to the law as a penance for what he did.  Then she
could have forgiven him.
