The only way (imo) for a season three to have occurred was for Hall to
do more of the writing.  It was very clear (to me) which eps were her
writing and which were staff or freelance.  The show stopped giving me
enough to care about when it meandered to the police station, or when
it got stuck in Joan's friends.  A clear (to me) place where the story
could have gotten better.

The conversion story seemed at the end, forced and fake.  The meeting
the rapist for forgiveness could have been played more powerful and
I'm not sure if that was a weakness in the writing or the actor.

It just seemed toward the end with the exception of the final two eps
that everyone had given up.
