I just got the April 2005 issue of Popular Mechanics magazine. There is a
cover story about model rocketry at ROC-stock in California.
Also mentioned is a 'Punkin Chunkin' championship in Delaware. One
trebuchet
weighed in at 50,000 pounds and stood 62 feet high. Beat the world record
for chucking a 10 pound pumpkin *by* 300 feet.
Nowhere in the article though, was any mention of junkyard wars and how it
might have given a wider audience to these sports.
