No, if I preferred painfully unfunny sitcoms, I'd like JSM. :) Seriously,
while I don't
think D&G is a perfect show (certainly not in its later seasons), I do
enjoy it in
guilty pleasure kind of way. Plus, Thomas Gibson is easy on the eyes...
JSM, however, is
merely the barest of premises (a generic workplace) with cut out
characters (the
strident female, the weirdo, the obvious boss, the funny drunk, etc.)
propped up within
and broad jokes that have nothing to do with the premise, which is to say,
a sitcom, in
which none of the "com" comes from the "sit" but rather, is just a half an
hour of rapid
fire one liners from "funny" characters with no characterization. Granted
shows like
that seem to be the norm, as the success of Friends is proof of. I like
sitcoms with a
little more depth to them, such as Scrubs, rather than empty fluff, like
most of the
networks fling at us.
As for watching shows everyday, it has more to do with having a TV at work
than a real
desire to watch anything everyday. Me, I'd rather have a radio on.
