My god, it's been literally years. Like 3. Seriously. You guys
probably don't remember me. It's Jillian, you may remember me as
Sacrina. I met some of you at the Humber College benefit in Toronto
and Scott's one man show back in Buffalo back in 2001. Kitana may or
may not still have a picture of Scott spooning me at said event. I
also attended the two Toronto shows April of 2002 where I tried to meet
up with some of you I think. I still have the tapes Kitana and Tavie
sent to me, and Tavie, you might still have the little Flik toy I sent
after A Bug's Life came out.
I've missed you guys.
And I've missed the kids.
I remember lurking on the newsgroup last summer and being so happy that
Tavie and Kitana were still on all the time. I was reading stuff on
Bruce's website and was searching for more information but all I really
saw was the DVD release. I guess all those petitions we signed finally
worked, eh?
I'm so disappointed that I didn't know about the Kids being at the
Steve Allen Theater. See, I fulfilled a lifelong dream to move to LA
back in 2004, and I just left LA January 31 of this year, missing the
shows by 3 weeks! Can you freaking believe it? What's worse, is that
I'm totally unhappy here, back in PA, and want to move back to LA,
ASAP. How funny!
For some reason the past two months, I had this weird twinge that I
should be checking the newsgroup. Maybe it was going through a ton of
old papers from college and finding my KITH file, with the best of the
best postings from the ng. This was back in the deja days people! But
I finally gave into the urge, and am distraught. I let my KITH-dar
down. It was telling me to stay, but I didn't listen. I think I
assumed I would meet one of them there by chance, like Kevin would be
in his pimp coat on Hollywood Blvd. like during the Rudy and whores
sketch from the 2002 tour. "I don't want to die on Danny Kaye!" Was
that how it went?
It's so glad to see the obsessions haven't worn thin. But It's funny
to see the vocab change. Back then we were all about "taping" and now
it's "Tivoing." I remember being so excited that they mentioned Tavie's
name in the one tour webcast with all its halting streams and scratchy
feeds, and now podcasts are all the rage. God, I sound like Garrison
Keillor talking about my Depression-era childhood, but it was only a
few years ago.
Well, I will be at lots of shows if they decide to tour. And I hope to
see some of my favorite old friends and meet a ton of new ones. KITH
love doesn't die, sometimes it's just dormant.
