There's only so much you can fit into a two-hour movie. :-)
KITT's other new abilities (and perhaps more of the history between the
two shows) are part of what will be in the series, if it happens. BUT
there is a bit of a limit as to what you can do with a car ... about
the only new thing you could do is make it fly or become a boat /
submarine.

This is a different KITT (the Knight Industries THREE Thousand). It's a
different character to the original Knight Industries TWO Thousand
that partnered Michael Knight. A new character, a new car and a new
voice, which makes sense ... and makes a nice change in Hollyweird
these days.
It's anyone's guess when we'll see it on TV here. The networks here
have been reasonably good at getting new stuff quite quickly, probably
in a hopeless attempt to combat the quick DVD releases and Internet
downloads.
