IMHO, the producers could have made the Mustang fly, and make it look new
simply by using another plot device. The new KITT can "morph", so to
speak.
I would have used special effects to "morph" the Mustang into a somewhat
different shape. Or, maybe just ad a wing or something coming out of the
front and back, and show some thrusters or something underneath. It
sounds
cheesy, but I think if the show turns into a series, they should look into

it, and if they do it right, I think they could pull it off. It is
strange
though, that in every "Knight Rider" sequel ("KR:2000", "KR:2010" "TKR"),
none of the cars/trucks ever boost over anything. To me, that was one of
the best parts of the show. It was very difficult to trap KITT. Sure,
this
new Mustang might be able to "morph" into something else to get out of a
bad
situation, but boosting is so simple, yet IMHO, looks so awesome. As for
"The Dukes of Hazzard", those were some of my favorite parts of the movie.

As long as it looks real (and for "KR", is plausible...where-as in the
"Dukes" they would hit a "bump" in the road and get air born), it would be

great. Sure, I will admit that jumping a car might be a bit over used,
but
to me it still looks great. "Gone in 60 Seconds", "The Punisher",
"Dukes".
They all had jumping cars, and all cars were different. Hmm...The car
that
they jumped in "Gone in 60 Seconds" was a Mustang too...

I can understand that. But they have to have something that makes this
show
different from any Police show on TV. Yeah, the car can talk. So can a
1980 BMW. They car is bullet-proof, well that's not hard (though,
expensive) to do these days, and it has lots of blinkies on it's dash.
But,
how many Police shows have the central car jumping another car at least
every few episodes? I liked the movie for what it was, but everything
they
showed has been done before. Even the huge Air Force jet they had at the
end, was done in "Team Knight Rider", only (oddly enough), IMHO, TKR's jet

looked cooler.
