The success of Alias is more recent than that of LFN, which explains
why the DVDs are released before this success has any chance to fade.
LFN stopped airing before DVD TV took off, so it doesn't really matter
much (sales-wise) when they release them, since there's no loss of
"hype" along the way.

LFN hasn't been released on region 2 at all. And season 2 should
arrive on region 1 during the summer.
