From series creator/writer/director Ken Finkleman, the award winning
comedy
series The Newsroom is back with 13 new episodes.
Fans who have long awaited the return of the show's clever and provocative
satire will not be disappointed to see George Findlay and his staff back
in
the newsroom, where pettiness and moral bankruptcy are taken to new
depths.
As George maneuvers his way around the daily task of producing the news,
death taunts him at every turn. He's embarrassed to be seen eating alone
when his lunch date dies en route. He fails to win the office pool,
betting
wrong on when a staffer's dog will die. He accidentally poisons a
girlfriend
by leaving bad clams in his fridge. And, when another newsroom staff
member
feels suicidal, George counsels him by quoting Irish poetry, leading to a
near collapse of the newsroom.
Racial profiling, avoiding jury duty and reality TV are all part of a
day's
work in the newsroom. And when all else fails - a good lie means you're
never without a news story. And when that fails, confess and make a book
deal. Hallelujah!
The Newsroom is a production of 100 % Film & Television Inc., in
association
with CBC Television, Showcase Television and with the participation of
Telefilm Canada. Executive producers are Jan Peter Meyboom and Ken
Finkleman.
