OT: Slavery

by Puzzled in Pittsburgh <Puzzled in pittsburgh noemailaddress@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sep 13, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Could someone explain how slavery in the US of A could
be even remotely constitutional?

I've never understood how it was allowed by the US
judicial system.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect
union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the
common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings
of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish
this Constitution for the United States of America.

How does the above text even hint at allowing slavery?

I don't care who sold who into slavery, I don't see how
it was allowed inside the US of a borders.
