It's not a person. It's a self-perpetuating virus. Someone *wrote* it,
of course, but once they do, they send it out, and it does the rest.
It's programmed to look around the hard drive of whatever computer it
infects and send itself out by whatever means it can find (such as
e-mail or newsgroups).
Which means, incidentally, that if you receive an e-mail from someone
you know and trust, it *still* could have a virus attached. The virus
may have infected that person's computer, and sent itself from there--or
it might have infected someone *else's* computer, found that e-mail
address there, and sent itself from there picking that e-mail address to
use as the return address. Nasty little things.
