I disagree completely.  The whole "we have to keep it a secret because 
dating a student is illegal" bit was NOT treating someone well.  He 
should have gotten a job elsewhere, or quit seeing her.

Whitney was a psychotic creep.  I can't imagine he treated her 'well'

That was pretty stupid.  Whitney hadn't given either of them one reason 
to be good to him for a second.  But apparently he didn't have any other 
friends either.
