I think I know what women want: (1) A nice guy but who is (2)
Confident and/or nonchalant. In other words, he acts like he does not
care if the Girl in front of him says "yes" or "no" because he is
confident there's a hundred other women waiting to say yes.
Unfortunately like the other poster said, too often the "confident" guy
also equals the asshole who treats her like she's worthless. SO WHAT
DOES CLARK NEED TO DO? He needs to stay his "nice" caring self, but
get out of that darn barn, and go start asking women for dates.
They'll say "yes" to the nice but confident Clark, and he'll forget
about Lana.

BTW, what I said about nice but confident guys also applies to women.
Men are attracted to women who act "self-assured" in the knowledge that
they are beautiful & men will ask them out. Her confidence is a huge
attractant (which is why so many people here like Lois, even though I
think she's a _____).
This isn't to say that shy girls can't get dates.
Because even a shy girl will eventually get asked out by someone.
Unfortunately the reverse condition, where a shy guy gets asked out, is
not true. So shy/non-confident girls are getting dates, but the
shy/nice guys like Clark are still sitting in their rooms and wondering
why they have no women. (Which raises the question... Do guys even
need women??? My vote is no; but that's a different issue.)
