That's a good point. That was pretty stupid of Jason to get a job as a
teacher at her highschool. Not very considerate to make Lana risk
getting expelled. And also, IIRC, didn't they make out a few times at
school? Pretty stupid. As an adult, Jason should be able to wait until
class is over at least. Or he should've just gotten a job at the Talon
LOL.

I disagree. Whitney seemed like the prototypical dumb jock in the
beginning when he helped "scarecrow" Clark, but as the series went on,
we could see that he was really the soft sensitive type, who even
became friends with Clark, despite the fact that Clark was trying to
scam his girlfriend. Whitney seemed very patient and accomodating to
all of Lana's needs. Heck, he dated her for a couple years and never
asked for sex. That's pretty impressive, considering he was the stud
footbal star and should've had a lot of girls throwing themselves at
him.

Another problem with Smallville is that no one really seems to have a
life outside of Clark or Lana. Even now that Martha is a senator, her
life hasn't changed at all (other than having to constantly bum rides
off Lionel). How about having Martha actually do something (other than
empty headlines).. Have her lobby the state government to declare
Kryptonite as a toxic substance and clean the town up. Have her do
something other than give lame, non controversal speeches and then have
the Planet make a headline about it.

Are you talking about when he tried to save her from the impending
meteror storm?
Yeah, it was kind of wierd when he was trying to grab the magic rock
from her. I'm not even sure how he knew she had it, because wasn't it a
secret that Jason recovered the rock in China and gave it to Lana.

On the other hand, Lex has basically provided for Lana financially for
the past 5 years. He bought the Talon for her, and was obviously very
generous with her. He paid her to go to Paris, and probably has been
giving her money ever since she came back from Paris.
He has been pretty honest with her (especially last season). He told
her about the ship eventually. He told her about Fine and his powers.
Before this season, I agree, it was an odd relationship. They both lied
to each other a lot, and Lana generally just came to Lex to get money
or when she needed someone to whine about Clark to.
