I believe that was some kind of set up--his being in Paris. It was no
accident he and Lana met. Jason in the end was portrayed as a liar. I
think it was Lex that had a picture of Jason and Genevieve together in
Paris
and he showed it to Lana--contradicting Jason's story to her. In the end
Jason becomes a killer by murdering Bridgette Crosby, planting the body at
Lex's knowing he would dispose of it, kidnapping Lionel and Lex , and
later
holding the Kent's at gunpoint as the meteors steamed down. His whole
"nice
guy" presentation was a ruse devised by him and his mother to get the
stones
and revenge on Isabelle.
