The DVDs, I hate to rain on others' parades, are cut! They are the same
silly versions used by Columbia House and other companies that put out
the show on Video. The cut scene that I know about is a short one: 30
seconds. It's the very last scene in THE DREAM MONSTER where Penny and
Smith are looking for flowers and Penny holds one up to Smith and he
sneezes. On the video and the DVD versions, both UK and US, it just
starts with Penny talking to Smith. Well this never happens on Irwin
Allen shows. The real start has a long shot of Penny and Smith walking
amid rocks and there's music to reenter the show (of course) and then
they talk. Then it picks up where the DVD and Videos have it picking
up. Seriously disturbing. I wonder what else is cut. I also heard
there is a part missing from RETURN FROM OUTER SPACE. Why can't Irwin
Allen fans get their due? Don't get me started on how the other three
shows have been slighted. Irwin had six shows but I don't always count
SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON and CODE: RED.
