I've read that the pilot for a new LIS was filmed in 2004,
but Warner Brothers TV channel could not come to some
kind of agreement, despite their continuing interest.
And the LIS producer saying he's not going to release it
unless it's done right.
Meanwhile one of the main actors broke further ties out
of "artistic differences".
So it remains shelved.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what, if any, new
story line treatment LIS may have?
I do know that the new treatment involved a darker insight
into LIS, much like the movie did, instead of the campy show
LIS turned into originally.
Everyone loved the original LIS pilot, or more serious first season.
Just get rid of Dr. Smith's whinning charactor, and either;
replace him with a more subtle devious charactor,
or keep him on earth, and let others investigate his traitorous
behavior.
And for goodness sakes, keep the Jupiter 2's clean lines, but make
it about 5 times bigger to reflect reality.
The Chariot should be running down one of the J2's landing legs.
I do think it's a good time (depending on what treatment it had)
to release a new LIS, due to the small sampling of quality sci-fi
that's presently available...not to mention any new Star Trek
shows being made right now.
I do believe, if done intelligently and seriously, LIS could once
again be at
the top of the ratings as it was originally.
