Actually, through rechecking the source, I was mistaken on this.
It is not known 100% for sure how the engine sound FX were
made, and best guesses are audio oscillators, low organ tones,
and variable speed recordings.
Go to the middle of the page and click on the little oscillascope
under the title;

I don't really know much about Adrianne, or her career in acting...
but I do think it's pretty cool for such a young woman to be so
interested
in LIS and devote a certain amount of time in answering questions and
promoting the hard work of so many people for the fans...and don't
forget the Web master for putting much of the puzzle together.
