Very possibly. Interesting that Jack told Kate (in the flash-forward) that

he'd been taking flights over the Pacific to various locations and hoping 
the plane would crash, apparently in the belief that this would return him

to the island. That does not sound as if he has any idea where the island 
is, which makes his "We have to go back, Kate!" hard to make sense out of.
