Well of course everything boils down to the same old mysteries: Who are
we? Where did we come from? Where are we going?

All I'm suggesting is that with this series, we're dealing with a plane
crash on a mysterious island; thus, the source behind the script writing
is irrelevant.  ...The producers may partially base their writing on the
Bible or Ancient Egyptian beliefs, but to many people these stories are
nothing more than BS anyways.  

So basically we end up with a Raiders of the lost Arc type scenario.
...Sure it makes for interesting viewing, given the mythlogcal
background. ..But basically, we're still left with a lack of proof to
really tie the mythology background in with scientific fact.
