I didn't find this week's episode all that interesting, either. I didn't
see 
anything from the new characters that caused me to want to care about them

one way or the other. I also found Ben's shooting Charlotte only to have
her 
wearing a bullet-proof vest to be on the cliche side of amateurish. I
would 
have just offed the character. And if we really need an anthropologist, we

could have added another character.

This whole "team" thing for the newcomers made it seem as though we were 
watching a band of super heroes or something descend upon the island:
Oooh, 
we have a guy who appears to be able to talk to the dead; oooh, we have a 
Grade-A pilot; oooh, we have a physicist.

I just wasn't feeling it with this episode.
