Time lines??? How many ???

There's what's happening on the island.
But things involving the rescuers from the helicopter are different than
things that happened to the 815 survivors. Specifically, 815 crashed in
the ocean for them.   Apparently with no survivors. Yet when the copter
crew gets to the island they expected survivors to rescue.  So it looks
like the island is in a time line different from the copter crew.  And
they know it.  

Then there's the Tunisia scene.   Let's leave the polar bear fossil
alone for now.  Waaaaaay too much to take in.  But I assume the
newspaper headline was saying that flight 815 had been found.  And the
reaction suggests it was with survivors.  So is this a part of the
copter crew's time line? 

It looks to me like we have at least two distinct time lines going here.
Or are there more?  Or is it alternate universes?  Please don't let it
be that.   Time travel is confusing enough. Multiverses take it to a
completely different level.
